wer oder was ist das Isaan Projekt ?
es ist ein Zusammenschluss westlicher und thailändischer Künstler, ein gemeinsames Musikprojekt auf die Beine zu stellen.

Ohne zu hoch zu schauen,
wir werden wohl die Entsteheung eines brodway Musical Projektes sehen, das um die Welt ziehen wird.

mit einem Wort, es ist ein Thai Fusion Projekt

vor knapp 4 Wochen ist schliesslich das Musikstück erausgekommen,
das sich mit dem Thema Rotlicht beschäftigt,

worauf sehr viele gewartet haben.

Anfangs werden die Musikstücke eher an Dance Mix Charakter angelegt werden,
um den kommerziellen Erfolg zu sichern.
Die Sängerin, Pui Duangpon

war 2012 in THE VOICE OF THAILAND bekannt geworden.

Welcome to the Isan Project, an international collaboration of Thai and Western Music.The Isan Project is an idea I came up following a holiday in Thailand where I discovered an Isan band on the Sukhumvit road in bangkok. The group were performing their craft busking for money. Isan is a poor province in North East Thailand but has a strong musical history of instruments and styles.My first introduction to Isan music was the Phin guitar, and then I heard a Morlam singer in a taxi whilst being hurled around the streets of Bangkok. Eventually I took more interest and bought 500 mp3's from shopping centres to learn more about Isan music.Through a good friend and drummer "Erik Hargrove" I was fortunate to meet some very friendly Thai stars, Fatboyz Ford and Koh Saxman who started to tell me more about the Isan music and music in Thailand in general. After visiting several local gigs I decided to take a trip to Isan to discover the source of where all this music come from. I took a camera crew with me to create a video blog and I started to develop a few of my own musical ideas using sounds from Isan and fusing them with contemporary music we hear today in London and New YorkWe are collaborating with some great musicians and artists fro Thailand, USA and the UK. And we are currently enjoying chart success in the UK with Strangers ft Errol Reid that made No.11 in the Music Week Pop Chart and Forever (Remix) ft Richie and Mariam which made it to No.21.There is lots more to come in the coming months and we hope you enjoy our ideas.Will Robinson

der Song ist sehr provokativ,

weil er zum einen Textpassagen enthält, die der Sängerin ME seinerzeit zum Verhängnis wurden,

zum anderen singt die th. Sängerin, man solle den Gott preisen,

weshalb in anderen Foren, wie

Nana is No.1

sofort die Frage gestellt wurde,
ob wir es hier nicht mit einem Produkt aus der christlichen Sekten... ecke zutun haben ( " Kailan pa ")

(wobei der Bio der Sängerin zu entnehmen ist,
dass sie wohl in den USA bei Foster-Eltern gelebt hat, und am Ende schliesslich einen jüdischen Ehemann geheiratet hat,
was ja nicht unbedingt etwas schlechtes per se bedeuten muss)

Das Hauptbild der facebook-Seite, wenn dies von einem jüdischen Angehörigen kommt, der viele Erinnerungen mit der Holokaustzeit verbindet,
an was denkt man bei dem Bild ???

(der Isaan marschiert ?) (weil bei der rechten Dame ihre ausgestreckte Hand im Bild mit Photoshop manipuliert zu seien scheint ?)

aber dann wäre das ganze Projektziel nur vorgeschoben,

oder im letzten Jahr ist der Produzent gekippt,
und verfolgt jetzt einen anderen Kurs ?

Mit dem Song hat er die Expat Claqueure aus der Barszene bestimmt gewonnen,
mit dem Liedrefrain - wir gehen jetzt ins Rotlicht juchu ! wird er es mit den konservativen Thais entgültig verscherzt haben,
aber ev. wollte er das, und das war seine Antwort,

und als Bauernopfer wurde gleich die Karriere der th. Sängerin mit verheizt.

Ex China Black front man “Errol Reid” and The Voice (Thailand) “Pui Duangpon” — took top spot in the iTunes chart this week [Nana- Single – The Isan Project] and is tipped to be a hit in other countries, the song was written about Asia’s most popular tourist destinations.The Isan Project is a collaboration of Thai and Western sounds and a documentary is being filmed about it.
The song and video is about a Thai girl dragging her find into the dark streets of Nana for a night out. It’s no surprise everybody laughs on the skytrain when then PA announcement says “Next Station – Nana” — not only is the it a key station in the Thai capital for day time commuters — but when the neon lights come on and the girls take their seats in the bars it becomes the busiest skytrain stop in Bangkok.
