Puea Thai submitted letter to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the US embassy on Wednesday giving the opposition's view of the facts behind the formation of the Democrat-led government.
The letter, delivered by party spokesman Prompong Nopparit, [highlight=yellow:73665eaa8b]said the Abhisit Vejjajiva administration had no legitimacy to run the country. It was not elected by the majority of Thai voters[/highlight:73665eaa8b] and was just a consequence of the Sept 19, 2006 military coup.
Mr Prompong said the letter also called on Asean members and other countries to consider Thailand in the same context as the overthrow of the president of Honduras by the military.
The international community is now pressuring the interim government in Honduras to quickly return power to the ousted president.
Mr Prompong said Puea Thai would deliver similar letters to the embassies of other countries.
